12/5/2023 0 Comments Age of wonders 3 blighted terrainA single incide revolt would have rebels spawning in just a few turns, and then you have to ask if it's worth the money to produce units to hold the city. 50 happiness isn't a problem in itself, though it will mean the city is overall less productive than your others (no malus yet, it just doesn't share to bonus), and is more vulnerable to happiness reducing attacks. Also, any of your elven units would also be taking morale hits, and they don't have city buildings to make up for it, which means that your garrison could be getting fumbles all over the place. You can somewhat mitigate this by terraforming everything to forests, which will make the net happiness of the tiles 0. This could stack up to the point of being a serious issue. So, first off, it's worse noting that the problem will only get worse with city size the larger it gets, the more blighted land within range of it, the worse the problem becomes. If you were playing a class which could overcome the happiness penalty (basically rogue, druid, or Dreadnought), then hey, why not take it it's still economy, right? Alright, time for that ever hated response: "It depends."
